Generative AI training for people who had never used it
Control Union Poland, part of the global Control Union certification network, wanted their teams to understand where generative AI could improve sales, recruitment, management and operations. We delivered an interactive training that took staff from AI fundamentals to practical prompt engineering, built around the testing, inspection and certification industry.

The challenge
Deliver a training that works for complete beginners and more experienced staff alike, covering generative AI fundamentals and the applications that matter to a certification and compliance organisation.
Control Union Poland is part of a global certification network working across agriculture, forestry, supply chains and sustainability. Their teams handle proposals, audits, compliance documentation and client communications, and every one of those is a place where generative AI reduces manual effort.
But the organisation had not built internal familiarity with AI tools, and experience levels varied widely across departments.
The goal was not implementing a specific tool. It was giving the whole team a practical understanding of what generative AI can do, how to use it effectively, and where it fits into the workflows they already have.
The build
What we built
We designed and led an interactive online session built specifically around Control Union Poland’s industry and workflows.
How the models actually work
How large language models work, what they are good at and where their limits are, in accessible language and without assuming a technical background. That gave every participant the same baseline regardless of where they started.
Applied to certification work
Concrete examples from TIC workflows: writing proposals more efficiently, preparing audits, improving client communication, and supporting decisions with AI-assisted research and summarisation.
Prompt engineering, hands on
Techniques for writing prompts that produce accurate, useful results rather than generic output. This was the most immediately applicable part of the day: skills participants could use the same afternoon.
Applications against the models behind them
The difference between an off-the-shelf AI application and the model underneath it, so participants can judge which tool suits which task and evaluate new AI products as they appear.

The results
The teams came away with a practical foundation: enough to start using AI tools in daily work and to evaluate future AI initiatives with a clear sense of what is possible and what is hype.
The training was designed as a starting point for wider adoption. Building the knowledge across several departments at once gave the organisation the internal understanding it needs to identify and prioritise specific implementations later.
