Intelligent virtual assistant supporting planning operations for leading automotive manufacturer
About the customer and the challenge
The project has been conducted for one of the biggest luxury car manufacturers globally.
The car planning process is very complex and dependent on many factors, hidden in the underlying data warehouses and other planning systems. Operating on the data residing in different locations requires much know-how and is quite time-consuming. The company wanted to take advantage of the latest technology trends to make the work faster and more user-friendly.
Solution
To address the challenges, we have conducted design thinking workshops to better understand the needs of our partners. This allowed us to more effectively gather the requirements and create solution architecture for the intelligent virtual assistant supporting the product planning process.
Using the Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) methods, the solution is able to understand and interact with the users both in written and spoken language in German and in English.
Working in line with the corporate IT strategy, we have implemented the whole solution in the Microsoft Azure cloud, using cloud native services, such as LUIS, Microsoft Bot Service, CosmosDB and AppService.
Working in the scrum methodology including all important stakeholders, we were able to integrate the chatbot with all needed systems, such as SAP BW. The project included creation of a secure connection between Microsoft Azure Cloud with the on-premise infrastructure, as well as permission control to ensure the high security of the sensitive data.
