Equipping Control Union Poland with Generative AI Expertise

The context

Control Union Poland is part of a global certification network operating across agriculture, forestry, supply chains, and sustainability. Their teams handle proposals, audits, compliance documentation, and client communications – all areas where generative AI can reduce manual effort. But the organization hadn’t yet built internal familiarity with AI tools, and experience levels varied widely across departments.

The goal wasn’t to implement a specific tool – it was to give the entire team a practical understanding of what generative AI can do, how to use it effectively, and where it fits into their existing workflows.

The brief: deliver a training that works for complete beginners and more experienced staff alike — covering generative AI fundamentals and practical applications relevant to a certification and compliance organization.

What we delivered

We designed and led an interactive online training session tailored specifically to Control Union Poland’s industry and workflows.

Generative AI fundamentals. We covered how large language models work, what they’re good at, and where their limitations are – presented in accessible language without assuming technical background. This gave all participants a shared baseline regardless of their starting point.

AI in business processes. We walked through concrete examples relevant to TIC workflows: writing more efficient proposals, optimizing audit preparation, improving client communications, and supporting decision-making with AI-assisted research and summarization.

Prompt engineering in practice. Participants learned techniques for writing effective prompts – how to get accurate, useful results from language models rather than generic outputs. This was the most immediately applicable part of the training: skills they could use the same day.

AI applications vs. underlying models. We explained the difference between off-the-shelf AI applications and the models behind them – helping participants understand which tools are most suitable for different tasks and how to evaluate new AI products as they emerge.

The outcome

Control Union Poland’s teams gained a practical foundation in generative AI – enough to start using AI tools in their daily work and evaluate future AI initiatives with a clear understanding of what’s possible and what’s hype.

The training was specifically designed as a starting point for broader AI adoption. By building foundational knowledge across multiple departments simultaneously, the organization created the internal understanding needed to identify and prioritize specific AI implementations in future phases.
